The Native Territorial Councils of Gracias a Dios are fully autonomous from the central government of Honduras, and protected by the laws of the Honduran Congress as well as the Convention 169 of 1989 ILO of the Honorable United Nations. Meaning we are self governed, same as the Cherokees and the Navajo Nations of the USA.

We are proud to be Hondurans while embracing our native roots, history and traditions.
